Nineteen Days...

Nineteen days till Elder Hanson comes home!

Kyle's been serving a mission for the past two years in Nashville, TN and I've missed my big brother. I can't even describe how proud I am of him. Terribly terribly proud. I can't wait till he comes home on November 17th. I'm just going to dissolve into a big soggy puddle of happy tears and mascara when he walks through those airport gates.

Sometimes Its The Little Things...

Sometimes its the little things that make you smile...

I'm Randi and all the baked goods my roommates are making are not being kind to my gluteous maximus. Curses banana bread, cookies, and brownies...

Time To Withstand The Weather...

It's snowing in Logan. There is snow on the mountains. I'm a little less than enthused. I love fall. It's my most favorite season and it's the one that seems to stay the shortest. Just this weekend I was telling my mom how beautiful Logan was and that it was just the perfect weather. I retract my earlier statement. I'm just not feeling the snow this early. Really, it's October. I like snow during the time period of the day after Thanksgiving to about mid February. Then I'm done. Bring on the sunshine. I suppose I don't really live in the best places for predictable weather patterns but I can't leave my mountains. So as I sit in my lovely apartment it's been a chilly, Secondhand Serenade, play guitar with my roommate (who keeps singing Christmas songs), start a game of dishwasher Jenga, feel a little reminiscent kind of day.

If there's one good thing about bad weather, I've had a reason to wear these.

I'm Randi and I like Secondhand Serenade and stacking as many dishes into the dishwasher as I can.

Fan-Freakin-Tastic Friday

It's Friiiiiday! Like the majority of the population, I absolutely adore Fridays. There's just something about waking up that morning and knowing that it's going to be the weekend in a few short hours...if only I wasn't in Life Science. Life Science can make me feel like my face is going to die because I get so stinkin' bored. Like right now...cause I shouldn't really be blogging in class. Whatever, they're just going over our last test and I'm just a little speedier at it then everyone else. But I'm going home...again this weekend! Know why today is great? Because I'm wearing my new purple shirt and my super comfortable boots from Target (big surprise). These boots are one of my new favorite parts of my fall wardrobe. I love boots in fall.

I get to visit people this weekend! I get to go Target and craft shopping with my friend Chelsie! My grandma's annual Halloween party is Saturday! I love weekends at home. LOOOOOOOOOOVE them. To leave you smiling on this fan-freakin-tastic Friday, I'll leave you with some random funny cartoons. I think they're funny so if you don't even snicker at least...we can't be friends.

I'm Randi and I detest science but love Target, boots, and random funny cartoons.

I'm a Little Fond of Paint...

It's Homecoming Week here at Utah State. What better way to start off the week with a Paint Dance? Monday night, the roommates and I went to the Paint Dance! What is that you say? Well...basically you go in a great big group of dancing people...and paint gets thrown in the air onto people which is great fun. What is not so fun about it? If you wear flip flops your feet get stomped on like nobody's business. Then people started to lean against everyone and start squishing people. At one point, poor Emma and I started getting pushed down so I started throwing out the elbows to get people off of us. I've got mean little elbows. It was a little cold too which was expected because who thinks it's going to be warm when you're running around in a tee shirt, basketball shorts, and flip flops in the middle of October? We did some jumping jacks at the crosswalk while we were waiting for our light to turn...but then people started whistling and yelling, so we stopped. We'd been jumping long enough to get warm. But other than that, the paint dance was fun. My hair was about three different colors. This morning I was in the shower though...I found a little spot of paint on my back. Now, I'm a clean person, really and I'd scrubbed and scrubbed to get that paint off me. But that was a resilient little spot of paint apparently.

I'm Randi and I'm fond of a lot of paint, a little bit of jumping around, and long hot showers.

More Fluff About Fall Break...

Back from Fall Break and what a good break it was. I drove down and made it to Cheeko's football game. He was happy I was there, I just knew it. Big sister intuition and all. He got to play a lot which was way good and I was giving him the thumbs up every time he looked at me. He loves me, I mean look at that adoration on his face. It would just be a tiny bit easier if the little brother was you know, little.

Friday, I helped my mom watch two of the neighbor's kids which was hilarious at the least. After that we ran and got some fabric for something I'll show you in a click. Friday night, I went up to Rexburg with some friends to visit all our buddies at BYU-I. I miss seeing my friends every week. They're just so stinkin' funny and its so nice to be able to just talk to them.
Saturday morning I got up and made this baby with the fabric I'd bought Friday. I'd had this board sitting in my closet for years but this weekend I decided that I wanted to actually do something with it. I'm pretty pleased with it.

It's just perfect for my clips and my pictures.

Why buy it when I can make it?

I went to a baby shower with my mom on Saturday which was fun, just cute baby clothes, women in the ward, and delicious treats. Pretty much all weekend long I just heard how people were going to set me up, which I thought was pretty funny.
People: I bet you're just beating those boys off you.
R: Uh, not quite. I've only been on one date..and I already knew the kid.
People: Don't worry about that! I'll set you up with my neighbor's friend/son/brother.
R: Fine by me.
Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match...

Saturday night, went and partied in Rexburg with my dearly beloved friends (I'm peeved that we forgot to take pictures). And....then I drove back to Logan on Sunday. Which I was dreading. I have two tests this week (both in my two most hated classes) and it's Homecoming Week. So I have to spend time really studying instead of playing (like right now). Stink.

This Piece of Fluff...

I'm quite the lazy sucker. It's been almost a full week since I last blogged. I want to be on top of the blog because even though I know that not a lot of people follow me or faithfully dedicatedly read me every day...I like to pretend that my posts are highly sought after instead of just being a bit of fluff that's become a habit.
Anyways, here's what I've been up to for the past few weeks. That's right, another picture post because I can't think of anything superbly witty to write about today.
Here we have myself and the roommate at the Special Needs Institute dance last weekend. This is our new friend, Paul. Paul is in sixth grade, has Down Syndrome and some pretty sweet air guitar moves, and is one of the cutest little boys I have ever seen. Emma asked Paul what he liked to do and he replied saying, "School, soccer, science, and getting married." Emma asked him if he was getting married in the temple (he is) and if he had anyone in mind. Guess who he pointed to? That's right. Sorry fellas, I'm now off the market. He's quite the catch I think.

On to the next. The roommate and I went to Hyrum after Women's Conference on Saturday (which was amazing, I'll post about it later) and went to the local library to read to some kiddos and do some Halloween crafts. After we finished we saw this statue across the road and hightailed it over there to get a closer look. What a man.

After a full day of spiritual enlightenment, service, and shopping (triple s's) the roommate and I decided to try a new adventure. That's right. Emma cut her bangs. With office scissors. They look rad.

What else have I been up to? Making more rosettes and flowers of course. Ignore our ridiculously messy desk por favor. Forgive the weird posing as well...I was just trying to get a picture of my headband. I will vainly admit that I think my cheekbones look very nice in this picture however. Don't laugh because now you're double checking too.

And now we'll end with a shot of my room and my shower curtain.

I am Randi and I have no idea why I wrote this post.
But here's a secret...I'm going home tomorrow since we don't have school on Friday. Why is it a secret? Because I'm going to surprise my little brother. Why is it a surprise? Because I'm going to one of his football games for the first time. I can tell it on here because he never reads my blog.
So there.

Ache: noun, verb 1. To have a desire for something or someone who is not present...

Sometimes I get this aching inside of me. This ache for what used to be and this wanting for things to go back to what they were. I ache for being able to go see my family whenever I walk into a room. I ache for being able to drive to my friends' houses just to talk. I ache for Cedar Badge and the times there, the people I met, the experiences that were had. I ache for summertime, the carefree days, the nights that stick to me, and the feelings that are still there. I ache for my old life, that safe, predictable routine. I ache for that part of my life that's gone now, for the things that are changed.

Then I remind myself, that this part of life is good too, so good.

Four Things That Made My Day...

Four things that made my day. Might be a little time consuming...but it's worth it. First off, this may be my new favorite band and these are two of my favorite covers they do. I listen to them just about every morning...and sing to them as well (you may have to scroll down to the bottom and turn off my music if you'd like to watch the following).

This video gives me chills. What a woman. Watch both parts and you'll see what I mean.

Last but not least...USU beat BYU 31-16. That's right.
